    Clarity on my Tumblrs : )

    Hey Everyone, Just so keep it straight, because you know, even I get confused sometimes, this blog was originally an effort to make a online space focused on audio clips I recorded.  My other tumblr, weathermaker.tumblr.com, is going to continue to be the place to look at my art, and I will return Visible Headphones to a place where you can listen to my art.  Just in case we were all confused :/

    In the meantime, did you know I need a bunch of audio for my new film, Super Natura?  Keep yourselves posted as I will be calling all artists in the not so distant future.

    This is my last poster for Beirut.  There is a story…
A friend of mine had passed away two weeks before the show from cancer at a terribly young age.  I spent those two weeks making this image, dealing with the loss of my friend.  The day of his funeral was also the day of this show, so, all of us (his family, our friends, his fiancée) took a boat out into the ocean to take his ashes out to the sea.  It was moving , peaceful and beautiful.  I remembered how we became friends, and it was through Caetano Véloso song, and after a while all kinds of music, the last of which was Beirut.  I introduced him to Beirut and he loved it instantly (easy sell for someone who loves Mariachi).  After his funeral, I took the posters to the show, and watched this lovely music, wishing he could hear it through my ears.  Finally the show was over and Zach did an encore, the same Caetano Veloso song which Jaime and I began talking to one another about on the day we first met at work.  I felt water falling rapidly from my eyes and warm inside, and imagined that my friend really had heard this amazing night of music through and was sending a little message back…

    Getting to work on Super Natura is a pleasure after doing a summer’s worth of design projects.  Just returned from Deyrolles and dropped a chunk of Kickstarter change on bugs for the puppets in the film.  Here are some of my fav’s…

    Racing Dreams

    New acquaintance and work/life connection Bristol Baughan is a ver inspired woman.  She’s the producer of many films, and for being as incredibly young as she is, she has already won Emmy’s, a TED fellowship, and been nominated for an Academy Award.   Check out Racing Dreams directed by Marshall Curry in 2009, its now on DVD.

    aaronhartman:

    From omgposters.com;

    “Producer Johanna Goldstein and director Scout Shannon have been on the road filming an upcoming documentary about the poster world, and they’d like a little bit of help. They’ve been focusing mostly on three subjects, Kevin Tong, Daniel Danger, and Jay Ryan, but many other artists and events will also be covered. Daniel and Kevin have had nothing but good things to say about the experience so far. The footage is also looking awesome, check out the promo reel below. You can donate at a bunch of different levels with some very enticing gifts in return. This movie deserves to get made, help them out at IndieGogo.com.”
